The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Guest House premises of NTPC-Kayamkulam on 15th August, 2024. The event was marked by a series of patriotic activities, showcasing the spirit of freedom and unity.

The celebration began with the illumination of public buildings including Administrative Building, Cheppad Township Gate, Roundabout and NTPC Guest House on 14th & 15th August, 2024.

The highlight of the event was the unfurling of National Flag by Shri S.K. Ram, General Manager, NTPC-Kayamkulam & Chief Guest on the occasion, followed by singing of National Anthem by the Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, NTPC-Kayamkulam. A parade was then organised by 2 Platoons of CISF and 2 Platoons of Kendriya Vidyalaya Students..

The event featured colourful cultural programmes including patriotic group songs and dances performed by the children of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Balbhavan and CISF. Tri-color balloons were released by the Chief Guest and national flags were distributed to children. GM’s Meritorious Award was also distributed on this occasion.

The programme was attended by Smt. Sumitra, President, Navjyothi Ladies Club, HODs, Representatives of Union/Executive Association, Employees & Family Members of NTPC, CISF & Associates.
